When May melts the snows blocking the roads leading up to it, Naran sees a flood of Tourists. There is no surprise. When it comes to activities and attractions, the holidaymakers’ cup overflows. A Town about 85 km from Balakot, Naran is the base from where Tourists can experience the Kaghan valley’s splendors. This town by the Kunhar River is quite lovely in its own right, with snow-fed waters and scenic walks and treks. The river that surrounds it is excellent for river rafting and fishing. What makes it so frequented though, is the proximity of a wealth of lakes, trees, mountains and the beautiful Babusar pass, which is only accessible for a short window between July and October.
There is no shortage of hotels here, and there is also a 60-bed youth hostel, which speaks to the popularity of the place.
