Taxila is about an hours drive from Rawalpindi by the N-5 and by the Grand Trunk road. A driver can be engaged in these cities to take you to the city in their Taxi if you do not have your own car. There is a railway junction near Taxila museum and you can take a quick train from the Rawalpindi railway station. Then hire a local taxi driver who knows the sites, or simply walk to the museum. Daewoo buses that leave from the Rawalpindi Daewoo station also make a stop here, ask which route is right for you at the ticket counter.

If taking your own transport, any kind of car can make the journey.
