Nauroze:

A famous sports festival in Gilgit featuring polo, football, volleyball, and hockey. And what’s a festival without music and dancing? There’s plenty of that too. It takes place on March 21st every year, which is the first day of the new year in the Persian Calendar (Persian Nau= new, Roz = day). Large quantities of food are also made and distributed during this three-day celebration.

Ginani:

Also called Chineer, this festival marks the summer and the new harvest season. It takes place on 21st June and lasts 4 days. Traditional foods are prepared. Like sawayyian are made to mark Eid, Dirum Patti, a delicious local dish, is made especially on this occasion. Folk dances to flute music are also performed. It’s a colorful and immensely enjoyable occasion.
