What’s better than a visit to the mysteriously unique, distinct villages of the Kalasha Valley. In addition to a rich culture, Kalash offers breathtaking views of the Hindu Kush mountain range. It’s hard to figure out which aspect is more intriguing, the people or the landscape. However, the conglomeration of the two results in something truly novel, and majestic. We recommend visiting Kalasha Valley for at least two days, here is a detailed guide on how to get there and what to do once there.

Day One:

  • 5:00 am: Leave Islamabad Via M-1 Motorway
  • 6:30 am: Diverge onto Swat expressway before Mardan
  • 8:00 am: merge into National Highway 45 (N-45) through to Dir
  • 9:00 am: Breakfast at Dir
  • 10:00 am: Head towards Chitral via Lowari Tunnel
  • 1:00 pm: Reach Chitral, shift into Jeeps
  • 3:00 pm: Lunch at Ayun, jeep ride towards Kalasha Valley
  • 5:00 pm: Reach Kalash, explore local custom and commodities
  • 6:00 pm: Light Campfire, Camp and rest at Kalash Valley

Day Two:

  • 8:00 am: Local Breakfast with local dry fruits
  • 9:30 am: Explore local villages of Bumburet, Birir, and Rumbur
  • 11:30 am: Head towards Kunhar River, enjoy fruits by the river
  • 12:30 pm: Explore local Museum
  • 1:30 pm: Enjoy Lunch with locals, interact with local
  • 2:30 pm: Explore local graveyard, and temple.
  • 3:00 pm: Celebrate ongoing festival (if any)
  • 4:00 pm: Head back towards Chitral
  • 7:30 pm: Head towards Islamabad.
